The passing of Robert Duvall makes me reminisce about so many movies and projects he was involved in. He was never a grandstanding actor, and yet added quiet gravitas and dignity to whatever he attached himself to. Lonesome Dove was such a movie - the perfect foil for Tommy Lee Jones, and one of many great nuanced and understated performances which ranged from "To Kill a Mockingbird” through M*A*S*H to The Godfather, Gone in 60 Seconds and even Jack Reacher.
